Co-owner of BuffaLouie’s earns prestigious award from The Bloomington Chamber of Commerce

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce today announced the ten young professionals who will receive a 10 Under 40 Award at this year’s award celebration to be held Thursday, July 26 at the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center. The 10 Under 40 Awards is cohosted by The Chamber and its hYPe (Helping Young People Excel) program and recognize individuals between the ages of 21 and 40 years old who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their community and/or in their workplace.

This year’s 10 Under 40 honorees are:

  • Jason Banach Indiana University Real Estate
  • Annie Cornett PALS (People and Animals Learning Service)
  • Amanda Shettlesworth Bloomington Meadows Hospital
  • Logan Good Western & Southern Financial Group
  • Erika Rudd Monroe County YMCA
  • Jaimie Schwartzman BuffaLouie’s
  • Adam Schaeuble Next Generation Personal Training & Fitness
  • Jessica Reed Bloomington Playwrights Project

“This is a dynamic group of upwardly mobile young professionals and entrepreneurs. They demonstrate outstanding leadership and represent ‘the bestofthebest’ in our community,” said Christy Gillenwater, President & CEO of The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce.

“As part of our next generation of leaders, they will help to shape our community’s future and we are proud to recognize their contributions with a 10 Under 40 Award.”

The Chamber launched hYPE in 2011 to facilitate professional and personal development while encouraging networking for young professionals who live, learn, work, or play in Bloomington.

The Chamber then created the 10 Under 40 Awards to honor young professionals who show leadership in their professional, personal and civic endeavors. As Gillenwater explains,
“Through their actions 10 Under 40 awardees serve as an inspiration, helping others to excel.”

Like all hYPe events, the 10 Under 40 Awards celebration will include time to network among attendees prior to the dinner and the awards presentation. The event begins 6:30 p.m. and concludes at 9:30 p.m. Last year, more than 240 individuals attended the event.
